These pages reflect the grants awarded subsequent to our last year end and since August 1, 2018. At our coming year end, July 31, 2019, these grants will form the core of our next annual report. These pages are updated regularly. Those grants marked with an asterisk ( * ) are new awards.
Family & Community Services
Klinic Inc., Winnipeg The Centre provides a full range of health related services from medical care to counseling and education. This grant helped fund renovations at 167 Sherbrooke Street. | $20,000 |

Cooks Creek Community Centre Inc., Dugald CCCCI provides recreational and social activities for the Cooks Creek and adjacent communities throughout Rural Municipalities of Springfield, St. Clements and Brokenhead. This grant assists the expansion of the community hall. | $12,500 |
Taking Charge, Winnipeg This Centre provides programs and services to single parents and women to assist them to be more self-sufficient. This grant assists with the purchase of garden boxes, a chalkboard / whiteboard and a mural for the building. | $7,200 |
Niigaanaki Day Care Inc., Winnipeg This Daycare is located in Winnipeg's inner city. This grant assists with startup funding for the "The Good Bones Project", a project to promote healthy lifestyles. | $7,500 |
Boyne Valley Hostel Corporation Inc., Carman The BVHC operates the Boyne Lodge Personal Care Home and Boyne Towers in Carman. This grant helps towards landscaping costs at the new personal care home to be built. | $12,500 |
Diabetes Canada, Winnipeg Diabetes Canada prevents the onset and consequences of diabetes through education and services and advocating on behalf of those living with diabetes. This grant helps expand the "Let's Talk Diabetes - School Series" in the Frontier School Division. | $10,000 |

St. John's Presbyterian Church, Winnipeg This community Church in the north end of Winnipeg offers a free program called Little Miracles Music and Play Program. This grant helped towards music instruction for preschoolers and their caregivers' payable over two years. | $5,000 |
Parkland Humane Society Inc., Dauphin PHS is a Not-for-Profit organization located in the City of Dauphin which helps abused, homeless and neglected animals have a second chance at life. This grant helped to replace the dog kennels at the center. | $4,000 |
House of Hesed (Manitoba) Inc., Winnipeg House of Hesed is a transitional house located in the core of Winnipeg. They provide a home to men and women living with HIV/AIDS throughout the province of Manitoba. This grant assists with carpet replacement and repairs to the air conditioning system. | $5,200 |
Boyne Regional Library, Carman This library, located in a heritage building has high community use. This grant assists the renovation and expansion project of the library. | $15,000 |
Riverwood Church Community Inc., Winnipeg This Church is committed to supporting the disadvantaged in the Elmwood neighbourhood. They are constructing a 40 unit supportive housing facility for homeless persons who struggle to find stable housing and remain free of addictions. This grant assists the purchase of kitchen equipment and sound equipment for the dining / common area. | $40,000 |
1JustCity Inc. Winnipeg Is an initiative of the Winnipeg Presbytery United Church to ensure the sustainability of four United Church Community Ministries in Winnipeg. These ministries include the Oak Table, North End Stella, St. Matthews Maryland and West Broadway. This grant assists with the hiring of a housing coordinator for "Just a Warm Sleep". | $10,000 |
Willows Place Inc., Winnipeg This shelter is Manitoba's largest domestic violence shelter. This grant assisted with implementing a New Community Outreach model within Winnipeg's inner city neighbourhoods. | $15,000 |
Habitat for Humanity Selkirk This chapter builds homes for lower income families living in the City of Selkirk and the rural municipalities of St. Andrew and St. Clements. This grant assisted with the construction of a new house in Selkirk. | $10,000 |
Town of Niverville The Niverville Heritage Centre operates a range of facilities in Niverville. This grant assisted with the construction of the Heritage Pavilion which will be attached to the NHC facilities. | $5,000 |
Open Access Resource Centre, Winnipeg OARC is committed to improving the lives of Manitobans with communication challenges through the use of speech-generating devices. This grant assisted with the purchase of 7 new IPad minis for their clients. | $10,700 |
Snowflake Place for Children & Youth, Winnipeg This centre provides psycho-educational support groups for non-offending caregivers of children and youth who have experienced sexual abuse. This grant assisted with a pilot project to provide caregivers with education, knowledge and help to build the skills needed to support their child. | $10,000 |
The Jubilee Fund, Winnipeg Jubilee is in the philanthropic business of social finance. This grant, payable over 2 years, will help with their expansion project in Manitoba rural communities. | $20,000 |
Innovative LIFE Options, Winnipeg ILO supports individuals with an intellectual challenge as well as their families and community. This grant assisted with the Family Gathering Project in March which is a 2 day conference. | $3,000 |
Evergreen Basic Needs, Gimli EBN assists individuals with programs to support personal growth and empowerment. This grant is payable over two years to assist with the Connextions program. | $4,400 |
Selkirk Food Bank SFB distributes food to low-income individuals and families. This grant assists with the purchase of a truck. | $15,000 |
Canadian Centre on Disability Studies, Winnipeg CCDS adopted a multi-phase project called the Emergency Card Project which aims to help people with communication challenges, and other disabilities handle difficult circumstances. This grant helps fund Phase III of the project. | $10,000 |
Alpha House Inc. Winnipeg Is an emergency shelter that provides counseling, support and safe housing to women and their children. This grant assists with the backyard re-development project. | $10,000 |
Manitoba Association of Women's Shelters, Winnipeg MAWS provides training and other services to the 10 Provincial and 5 Federal emergency shelters for domestic and family violence in Manitoba. This grant, payable over 2 years will help develop training material for the Women's Shelter's Orientation Manual. | $15,000 |
West Region Child and Family Services Inc., Erickson WRCFS organizes a Reclaiming our Voices (ROV) Annual Women's Gathering which is in its 21st year. This grant will help fund the 2019 ROV gathering. | $5,000 |
Rm of Pipestone Recreation Development Corp. The RM of Pipestone surrounds the communities of Reston, Pipestone, Cromer, and Sinclair. This grant assists with the lake project for the RM of Pipestone Recreation Development Corporation. | $5,000 |
Broadway Neighbourhood Centre, Winnipeg This centre provides a wide range of programs and services for residents of Winnipeg living in the West Broadway area. This grant helps with their event titled Zam-mi-nan aki ("Touch the Earth") | $4,250 |

North End Community Renewal Corporation, Winnipeg NECRC is a neighbourhood development corporation that is operated by local residents, businesses and stakeholders. Its focus is to promote social, economic and cultural renewal of the North End of Winnipeg. This grant helps with the Winnipeg Rental Network program. | $15,000 |
Regional Connections Inc., Winkler RCI provides services and programs for newcomers that include immigrants and refugees who are making their new home in the Pembina Valley region. This grant helps with the renovation costs for the Care for Newcomers Children program space. | $10,000 |
Young United Church for Crossways in Common, Winnipeg Crossways in Common is located in the West Broadway area. It offers many programs that provides invaluable services to the community and beyond. This grant helps with the renovation of floors in the centre. | $10,000 |
Hamiota Community Centre HCC has been a central facility in the community which provides a great benefit for residents of the greater Hamiota area. This grant helps with renovations to the front entrance and bathrooms at the centre. | $7,500 |
Brandon Riverbank Inc. The Riverbank has become Brandon's "central park". It is situated alongside the Assiniboine River and it is a gathering place connecting people with nature. This grant helps to purchase new pathway lighting. | $15,000 |
Baldur Memorial Hall, Argyle BMH is the "Hub" of the community. The hall serves the community of Baldur, the Rural Municipality of Argyle and surrounding communities. This grant helps towards renovations for the hall. | $7,500 |
The Movement Centre Inc., Winnipeg This charity provides conductive education rehabilitation to individuals of all ages with a wide array of movement related disabilities. This grant helps with acquiring a wheelchair accessible van for their clients | $15,000 |
Child & Family Services of Western Manitoba CFSWM offers a variety of family strengthening programs and services to families such as the Preschool Enrichment Program and the Victoria Day Care Centre in Westman Manitoba. This grant helps purchase new windows for the McCutcheon building. | $9,000 |
The Happy Tots Place Inc., Powerview-Pinefalls THTP is a nonprofit daycare servicing the town of Powerview-Pinefalls, and the North and South Shore of the Winnipeg river. This grant helps to purchase a commercial dishwasher for their daycare. | $5,000 |
Ten Ten Sinclair Housing Inc., Winnipeg This apartment complex provides affordable, accessible housing and support services for persons with physical and reasonably equivalent disabilities. This grant helps to renovate the training room at the main Ten Ten Sinclair building,. | $9,000 |
Grandview Gateways Incorporated GGI provides residential and day supports to vulnerable adults living with an intellectual disability in the Parkland Area of Western Manitoba. This grant helps to purchase 2 AEDS to have in their bakeshop and activity centre. | $4,500 |
L'Arche Winnipeg Inc. L'Arche Winnipeg provides homes that are for people with developmental disabilities. They operate six homes and two independent living apartments. This grant helped to purchase a wheelchair accessible van for their members. | $15,000 |
Smile of St. Malo Inc. / Epic de St. Malo Inc. This non-profit organization is committed to advocate and promote inclusion in the community and surrounding areas for individuals with intellectual disabilities. This grant helps with the installation of a commercial kitchen for use in the community. | $15,000 |
Hands of Hope Inc., Winnipeg This agency provides free furniture and housewares to people in need. They are committed to providing an efficient and effective support to families and individuals whose lives are broken by poverty, oppression, exclusion, and abuse. This grant helps to purchase new tracking software. | $15,000 |
Edge Skills Centre Inc., Winnipeg ESCI provides adult education, English as a second language and career services to disadvantaged adults in Winnipeg. The program focuses on assisting its clients in finding long term, sustainable employment. This grant helps to purchase three new projectors for the classrooms. | $7,500 |

Prison Fellowship Canada, Winnipeg PFC provides camperships to the children of federal and provincial inmates to attend summer camp. This grant helps the 2019 Angel Tree summer camping program. | $14,400 |
African Communities of Manitoba Inc., Winnipeg This agency promotes programs, projects and activities for the encouragement, support and advancement of the African community in Manitoba. This grant helps to purchase a 15 passenger van. | $15,000 |
Spence Neighborhood Association Inc., Winnipeg SNA works with the people of Spence to revitalize and renew their community in the areas such as Community Economic Development, Holistic Housing, and Youth & Families. Canadian Virtual Hospice, Winnipeg CVH was originally launched in 2004 and since then has grown into the most comprehensive online source of information and support on palliative care and grief in the world. This grant assists with developing a web space for Adolescents and Young Adults with advanced cancer or other life-limiting conditions. | $10,000 |
Inclusion Selkirk Inclusion Selkirk, formerly Association for Community Living Selkirk is a non-profit agency aimed at helping people with intellectual disabilities live a productive life. This grant assisted with renovation costs for the skills division building at 377 Eveline Street. | $20,000 |
Lion Foundation of Manitoba & Northwestern Ontario, Inc. LFMNOI operates the Kidsight program for Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. This grant assisted with the purchase of a new Spot Vision Screener to expand the screening program in Manitoba. | $5,000 |
The Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba Inc. CHF is an independent agency whose purpose is to raise and distribute funds for the advancement of knowledge and care in the fields of child health care and child health research. This grant assisted with indoor space redevelopment. | $20,000 |
Eden Mental Health Centre., Winkler EMHC is an inpatient psychiatric hospital providing acute psychiatric treatment to adult individuals. This grant assisted with replacing sidewalks and to install electronically opening doors. | $10,000 |
Hope Air This National charity provides free flights to low-income Canadians who must travel outside the province for medical appointments. This grant payable over two years helps fund flights for Manitoba residents. | $15,000 |
South Central Cancer Resource Centre, Morden The SCCRC provides support, information, resources and education regarding cancer, cancer prevention and screening. This grant helps with the renovation costs of the "Hope Haven" wig and head covering room. | $5,000 |

Thompson Boys & Girls Club TBGC provides a safe, supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers and develop skills for life. This grant helps with the After School Program. | $10,000 |
Manitoba Camping Association, Winnipeg The MCA provides a summer camp subsidy program for financially disadvantaged youth ages 6-17. This grant assists with the 2019 Sunshine Fund. | $30,000 |
Macdonald Youth Services, Winnipeg MYS offers a range of services to children, youth and families throughout Manitoba. Their current project is Planting the Seeds of Reconciliation. This grant helps to purchase a Tipi with Support Structure. | $15,000 |
Education
Pathways to Education, Winnipeg Pathways to Education Canada helps youth in low-income communities graduate from high school and successfully transition into post-secondary education or training. This grant assists with funding for the Pathways to Education program. | $10,000 |
South Interlake Regional Library, Stonewall SIRL serves the RM of Rockwood, RM of Rosser, Town of Stonewall and the Town of Teulon. This grant helps with the replacement of HVAC rooftop units for the library. | $7,500 |
University of Manitoba, Winnipeg The Rec and Read Mentorship program works with Indigenous and non-Indigenous high school youth. This program hires university students and former youth mentors that work with these students to promote physical activity, literacy and healthy eating. This grant is payable over 2 years. | $25,000 |
Mary Duncan School, The Pas MD is a grade 7-12 alternative learning facility. This school offers programs outside of the core courses. They offer a cooking program that the students not only enjoy nourishing food but also gain a much needed life skill. This grant helps with the evening family cooking program. | $8,000 |
Heritage
Ukrainian Catholic Metropolitan Cathedral of Sts. Vladimir and Olga, Winnipeg This Cathedral is located in the heart of North Winnipeg. It is admired for the Byzantine-Romanesque architecture and the outstanding stained glass windows designed by the Winnipeg artist and sculptor Leo Mol. This grant helped to restore one of the stained glass windows. | $7,500 |
Teulon and District Museum and Historical Society, Inc., Teulon This museum targets a population of 5000 local and surrounding residents, plus tourists. This grant helped to replace the roof of the porch of the Hunter House built in 1905 which is classified as a heritage site. | $4,650 |
St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Gardenton This church is located in the RM of Stuartburn near Gardenton, Manitoba. It is the first Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Canada and it is designated as a historic site by the Federal and Manitoba Governments. This grant helps the production of a promotional DVD of this historic site. | $2,000 |
Oseredok Ukrainian Cultural & Education Centre, Winnipeg OKCEC is a public heritage institution with a mandate to preserve and share Ukrainian heritage in Canada. This grant helped with the restoration of the Ivan Bobersky's Glass Lantern Slide Collection to represent the 100th Anniversary of Ukrainian Independence. | $5,000 |
Westminster United Church, Winnipeg WUC was founded in 1892. It is a spectacular stone building that sits at the corner of Westminster and Maryland. This grant helped in replacing the front steps of the Church | $10,000 |
Mennonite Heritage Village (Canada) Inc., Steinbach The MVH was established in 1964 to preserve and exhibit the story of the Russian Mennonites and their contributions to Manitoba. This grant assisted with replacing some of the roofs on the village centre, barn and the log house built in 1877. | $10,000 |
Ivan Franko Museum & Library Society Inc., Winnipeg This museum is dedicated to the Ukrainian artist and patriot Ivan Franko. It was established over 50 years ago. This grant assisted with replacing display cases for the museum. | $3,000 |
Our Lady of Assumption Roman Catholic Parish, Mariapolis This parish church is located in south west Manitoba. It is designated as a Heritage building. This grant helps with replacing the cedar shingles on the church | $5,000 |
Manitoba Agricultural Museum Inc., Austin MGM is part of the MAM is the Homesteader's Village which includes St. Saviour's Church, a designated heritage building. This grant assists with the restoration of the Church roof. | $5,000 |
Jewish Heritage Centre of Western Canada, Winnipeg JHCWC located at the Asper Jewish Community Campus, has an extensive archive collection. This grant will help the centre develop a website to preserve the collection of Jewish newspapers. | $3,750 |
Misericordia Heritage Corporation, Winnipeg The MHC contains artifacts, documents and photographs about the Misericordia General Hospital School of Nursing and the Misericordia Nurses' Alumni Association that are not available elsewhere to the public. This grant helps to create a systematic collection record plan that will include a detailed catalogue and computerization of the collection. | $5,000 |
St. Helen's Anglican Church, Hilbre St. Helen's Anglican Church in Fairford was established in 1842. This building which was designated as a municipal heritage building and was built in 1917. This grant helps to repair the windows on the North side of the church. | $5,000 |
Arts & Culture
Gas Station Arts Centre, Winnipeg The GSAC is a cultural and performing arts centre in Winnipeg. This grant is for the purchase of a new lighting board console. | $7,500 |
ArtJunktion Manitoba Inc., Winnipeg This is a community-based, charitable organization committed to redistributing reusable materials. It is a leader in environmental sustainability initiatives and in Canada's art community. This grant helps the ArtHives program. | $5,000 |
West End Cultural Centre, Winnipeg The WECC is a strong and active member in the local arts community. This grant helped to purchase energy efficient stage lighting and new seating for the centre. | $15,000 |
Selkirk Community Arts Council SCAC has flourished and is recognized as a major art centre for the Interlake Region. Located in the old Selkirk Post Office. This grant assists with creating a useable kitchen area. | $6,000 |
Manitoba Opera Association, Winnipeg This grant assisted MOA with the touring production of "The Barber of Seville as styled by Al Simmons" for five performances in rural Manitoba. | $6,000 |
Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra, Winnipeg WJO promotes and develops big band jazz through performance, composition, recording and education. This grant assists with the purchase of a trailer to store their portable stage. | $4,000 |
Prairie Mountain Regional Museums Collections The PMRMC has been established to preserve, protect and interpret artifacts from the Prairie Mountain region of Manitoba. This grant assists with the construction of a licensed kitchen and food service establishment in the museum building. | $5,000 |
Gimli Film Festival GFF, is Manitoba's premier film festival. It exists to serve the general public as well as the local film community in variety of ways. This grant helps fund the Manitoba Project 2020 Film Production Fund. | $10,000 |
Artspace, Winnipeg This organization exists to provide stability for Manitoba arts and cultural organizations and practitioners. This grant helps to support the Northern, Rural & Indigenous arts organizations. | $5,000 |
Manitoba Underground Opera, Winnipeg MUOI was founded in 2008. They have earned a reputation for presenting professional opera singers in performances of classical works that are accessible to all audiences. This grant will assist with an opera for a children tour scheduled for July & August, 2019. | $5,000 |

McCreary / Alonsa Support Services for Seniors This agency aids seniors to remain independent in their own homes. It offers a congregate meal program 7 days a week. This grant helps toward purchasing a commercial dishwasher. | $5,000 |

IISD Experimental Lakes Area The internationally renowned ELA pursues a mission to promote human development and environmental sustainability through innovative research, communication and research. This grant assists with the purchase of a mini excavator. | $25,000 |
Lake Winnipeg Research Consortium, Gimli LWRC operates in a drainage basin that stretches 1.0 million square kilometers across North America, it includes 4 provinces and 4 states. LWRC offers a unique Lake Ecology Field Program to students between 8 and 12 aboard the M.V. Namao. This grant helped with the Education Program. | $12,500 |
