It's a thread that connects Canada's diverse landscapes, seasons, people and experiences. Winnipeg Quakers Meeting WQM is the financial administrator of the We Are All Treaty People Celebration. The WAATP project is a direct response to the Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Their vision is to provide an opportunity for Settlers and Newcomers to join together with indigenous people in celebrating the kinship relationship created by the signing of Treaty One and other numbered treaties. This grant helps to cover additional expenditures related to this celebration that is being held in St. John's Park on September 19th, 2021. | $3,100 |
Right to Play International, Toronto RTP's mission is to protect, educate and empower children to rise above adversity using the power of play. Through play children gain confidence and learn about cooperation and teamwork. Indigenous youth and their communities have been identified as areas where RTP programming would have significant impact. This grant helps towards RTP program costs in Manitoba's First Nations.
