In 1891, instructions for the construction of the CPR station in Portage la Prairie were given by Sir William Van Horne, the iconic chief engineer of the railway. This group is restoring the structure.

Air Cadet League of Canada, Winnipeg
Andrew Mynarski, a Winnipeger, won the Victoria Cross as a member of Bomber Command during World War II. A statue has been erected in Vimy Ridge Park in his honour.

These agencies are co-operating to commemorate the Cantin family of McCreary, Manitoba. The Cantins provided the largest number of siblings to Canada’s effort in World War II, 8 brothers and 1 sister. Three brothers were killed.
