Portage la Prairie Heritage In 1891, instructions for the construction of the CPR station in Portage la Prairie were given by Sir William Van Horne, the iconic chief engineer of the railway. This group is restoring the structure.

The Cantins provided the largest number of siblings to Canada’s effort in World War II, 8 brothers and 1 sister. Three brothers were killed.
